This bathroom, in a relatively newly constructed home, had already worn out its welcome. A confined shower compartment, dated cultured stone vanity and tub, along with wallpaper, created an unpleasant environment for any visitor. We began this project by removing all but the toilet compartment, located in its own space. Positioned in the same general location as before, the new drop in Kohler soaker tub was rotated slightly from its previous position, allowing for a considerably larger shower space surrounded by frameless glass enclosure and door. The walls, tub deck, shower and bathroom floor were then given a new tumbled marble face lift using varying sizes of stone, accent pieces and a molding cap. A custom-designed knotty alder vanity w/distressing stained glazed was added, topped off with a granite counter top, Kohler under mount sinks and Kohler lavatories. The walls have a skip trowel texture with a glazed finish, giving the room a warm glow and a pleasant relaxing atmosphere. A large-framed, beveled-glass mirror, surrounded by two wall sconces, this transformation has been completed.
